On November 14 and 15, Ruse will become a stage for world jazz. The hall of the Profit Yielding Building will host the emblematic "Jazz Fest Ruse" 2025, organized by the Municipality of Ruse. The event will bring together musicians from Bulgaria, Hungary, and Finland, who will present unique musical programs inspired by the free spirit and universal language of jazz.
The festival will be opened on November 14 (Friday) by the Borislav Yassenov Quartet, who, together with Zhivko Bratanov (piano), Ali Kelov (bass guitar), and Alexander Kamenov (percussion), will present an original program intertwining Bulgarian folklore and contemporary jazz.
That evening, the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy the exceptional collaboration between Teodosii Spasov and Hungarian saxophonist Mihai Borbey. The two virtuosos will create a unique musical dialogue between the kaval and the saxophone, accompanied by Aron Talas (piano), Balazs Horvath (bass guitar), and Honor Szabo (percussion). The evening will end with a traditional jam session at "Max Club" at 10 p.m.
On November 15 (Saturday), the stage will be conquered by the Finnish band Peela - one of the brightest bands on the Scandinavian jazz scene, which combines neo-soul, funk, and jazz in a modern and fresh interpretation.
The finale of the festival is entrusted to Big Band Ruse, conducted by Dimcho Rubchev, who will present a program featuring classic swing, Bulgarian jazz compositions, and new arrangements. Soloists of the evening will be Nadya Toncheva, Petar Salchev, and Mihail Yosifov. And the second festival evening will end with a jam session at "Max Club" at 10 p.m.
