The well-established names in Bulgarian jazz – “Sasho Popovski Trio,” “Koichev Jazz Trio,” “Daniela Belcheva Quartet,” “Radoslav Slavchev Quintet,” and “Funkallero” – will take the stage in Ruse this autumn.
“Autumn Jazz Evenings” is a concert series that will delight the Ruse audience every Thursday from October 9 to November 6 in the Plenary Hall of Ruse Municipality, starting at 7:00 p.m., with free admission. The events are organized by the Ruse Jazz Collegium Association and supported by Ruse Municipality, Dunarit, Grand Hotel Riga, Utro Newspaper, Arena Ruse, and Feniks 94.
In addition to being a treat for music lovers, the five concerts also aim to support the idea of creating a “Jazz Alley” in Ruse, an initiative launched by Daniel Dzhumaliyski, the chair of the association, and approved by the Municipal Council. The project envisions the alley as a place to preserve the memory of Petyo Petrov – Parcheto, Stayko Staykov (Staycheto), Bobi Rusev, Sasho Berbera, and other great Ruse jazz musicians – founders and promoters of the local jazz festival.
The plan includes placing stars bearing their names and QR codes with biographical information in multiple languages in front of the House of Culture.
Anyone wishing to contribute to the cause will be able to donate voluntarily in the designated collection boxes.
