The Municipality of Ruse and the Public Organization "Ruse Art" are announcing a competition to create an official logo for the Garash Cake Festival. The occasion for the initiative is the upcoming fourth edition of the delicious celebration, which will be held on September 13 this year.
The competition will be held from June 18 to July 4 and aims to create an original, recognizable, and functional logo with an appropriate thematic slogan to be used as the visual identity of the holiday. It should present the Garash cake not only as a confectionery temptation but also as a cultural and gastronomic symbol of the city of Ruse.
Everyone is eligible to participate, and candidates may only participate with a proposal created specifically for this competition that has not been published or used publicly.
Projects must include a color and black-and-white version of the logo, a description of the concept up to 500 words, a vector file in AI, EPS, or SVG format, and a visualization in PNG or JPG (with a minimum width of 1500 pixels). All proposals should be sent to ruseart@gmail.com by July 4 with the subject line "Garash Cake Logo Contest."
Applicants must attach the following documents:
- graphic proposal of the logo (.jpg or .png);
- application for participation (Annex №1);
- declaration of authorship (Annex №2);
- consent to the processing of personal data (Annex №3);
- declaration of absence of conflict of interest (Annex №4);
- preliminary agreement for the transfer of copyright (Annex №5), signed on each page.
The contract will be signed only by the winner of the competition.
The projects will be evaluated by a competent jury of experts from the Municipality of Ruse, graphic design professionals, and representatives of local businesses.
The evaluation will be carried out according to six criteria - originality of the idea (25 points), aesthetic value and visual impact (20 points), association with the holiday and the city (20 points), the possibility of applying the logo with the slogan in different formats (15 points), color harmony and technical feasibility (10 points), as well as compliance with the terms of the competition (10 points), with a maximum of 100 points.
The winner will receive a cash prize of 500 levs and an official certificate from the Municipality of Ruse, which will be awarded during the celebration.
The official announcement of the results and the award ceremony will be on July 10 at 3 p.m. in the Meeting Hall of the Ruse Municipality.
