Synagogue

In Ruse

The former Ashkenazi synagogue, built in 1927, is a Jewish center with a prayer hall. It preserves two large black marble slabs, on which are inscribed in gold letters the names of the Jews who died in the wars of 1912-1918. The Great Sephardic Synagogue has been converted into a Christian church. The church is open and can be visited.

In June 2018, a Monument to the Victims of the Holocaust and Gratitude to the People of Bulgaria, who saved the Jews from destruction during the Holocaust, was opened in Ruse. Its author is Arch. Rusinov.
