The Church of St. George is a three-nave pseudo-basilica dug into the ground with dimensions of 14 x 32 m. It was built in the 17th century, but in this form, it was reconstructed in 1843 by a Tryavna master. The church keeps a part of the relics of St. George the Victorious. It is located in the central part of the city, near the Central Railway Station.
In the past, on the site of the current church of St. George, there was a wooden church burned during the Russo-Turkish War from 1806 to 1812. There are three altars: the central "St. George", the northern "St. Dimitar Basarbovsky" and the southern "St. Nicholas the Wonderworker of Myra". A bell weighing 445 kg is placed in the highest part.
