The Ruse Library is one of the oldest and earliest established spiritual centers in Bulgaria. It is a logical conclusion of the national revival, part of the spiritual rise and our legitimization before the world after the Liberation in 1878.
During the years of socialism, charged not only with educational but also with ideological functions, the institution continues to be the real place for the people of Ruse to come into contact with the immense spiritual wealth of one of the most European and modern cities in Bulgaria. It is through the library that the city manages to preserve its charismatic appearance of an original and inimitably artistic city, much more colorful and different from the grayness and uniformity of the rectilinear doctrine of the harmoniously developed person.
Today, the Regional Library "Lyuben Karavelov" has new messages and activities. They are dedicated to the modern reading of history, the technological future, and our knowledge of the world in the diffusion of cultures and essence, in the dynamics of pan-European processes, and the specific needs of the modern man of the 21st century.
