The Baba Tonka House Museum is a key exhibition for understanding and presenting the Bulgarian Revival and the role of the city of Ruse in the processes of national maturation. Its realization presents the contribution of the Obretenov family and Baba Tonka in the implementation of the tasks of the Revival - a movement for an independent church, education, and revolutionary struggle.
The house of Nikola Obretenov (where the museum is located) was built in the period 1907-1908. The museum is located in a two-story building with a ground floor. The beginning of the exhibition starts on the second floor, where the history of the city from the last decades of Ottoman rule is shown through the prism of the Obretenov family chronicle. The topics covered are: Baba Tonka and the Obretenov family, the Zora community center, the groups of Filip Totyu, Panayot Hitov, Stefan Karadzha, and Hadji Dimitar. The main topics are also the Ruse Revolutionary Committee, the Chernovodska detachment of 1875, the April Uprising, and the Botev detachment of 1876.

Tuesday to Saturday - 09:00 - 12:00 (9 AM to 12 PM) and 12:30 - 17:30 (12:30 PM to 5:30 PM).
